God will be Honored through this.
Nathan is our oldest son of four boys and he is 22 years old. About 5 years ago a wart appeared on his thumb that would not go away. In January of 2010 we decided to have the wart removed and the thumb surgically repaired because of its size. The tissue was diagnosed and in late January of 2010 doctors told us that Nathan had a very rare form of cancer called (epithelioid sarcoma). We quickly started our research and got second, third and fourth opinions. We were told that this type of cancer was aggressive and fatal. There were very few cases. There is no cure for this disease here in the United States. After much research and prayer the doctors could not give us very good odds of survival even after amputation. We then sought out doctors and remedy that would save Nathan's hand and his life. There is hope to save his life in Germany. Nathan’s medical expenses have to be paid out of pocket. This website is to better help everyone with the course of God’s healing of Nathan’s full recovery.
Buddy & Karen Godwin
I am a Senior at Davidson College, I love to play baseball and I spend my summers in Mexico on missions and counseling youth at Christian camps. Being right handed, my thumb is a significant part of my plans. I am a Christian and I have faith in God for this journey. I have been in treatment to help keep my thumb and fight this cancer and I am excited about the progress.
Nathan started treatment in May of 2010. The pictures show the tumor before treatment, after treatment March of 2011 and now since we have not been able to financially continue with treatment. The tumors were gone and there is pink tissue in March of 2011. There is treatment in Germany that will help him. He needs funds to begin treatment now.
